MEGGS ‘…Own Worst Enemy’
Some may say that a new breed is upon us and the world is watching. Following on from his sold-out show at Utopian Slumps in 2007, Meggs’ most recent works continue to explore the relationship between alter-ego and self, inner demons, machismo and heroism. Presented by Stussy, ‘…OWN WORST ENEMY’ is on show next month at Don’t Come Gallery.
Meggs is a member of renowned street art collective ‘Everfresh’, a professional graphic artist and illustrator and and has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows. The collectors appeal of Meggs’ work cannot be denied and recently one of his most recognised works ‘Mission in LIfe’ was sold by a Flemish collector at the ArtCurial Auction house in Paris for $7500 AUD.
As further testament to his burgeoning popularity Stussy are collaborating with Meggs on limited edition tees and in-store design concepts which are scheduled for release early 2009.

B&B Barcelona took place last week and Diamond Dozen helped out with the Mooks stand. An installation space was created within the stand where Andy Uprock worked his magic. Barcelona was the first stop of many on the Andy Uprock World Tour that is presented by Mooks. The boys are documenting their shenanigans on the Cuprocking website.

Teenage Stereobike Gangs
I only wish that we had some of these gangs here in Australia. In an ideal world, they would peacefully replace those that cut laps around Chapel St on a Saturday night.
This latest installment from super-duo Randall Stevens sees them profile the underground Trinidadian teenage stereobike gangs of Queens, NY. In a stoke of extreme documentary luck the film-makers found themselves in the midst of gang controversy and managed to capture it all on film. Get lost in a sea of tinnitus as Legal Intentionz battle to protect their stereobike turf…
